What is the difference between teaching and learning?
Whilst teaching takes place in the home, classroom or workplace, learning takes place in the brain. From our individual experiences
of education each of us already knows that to be taught is not the
same as to actively learn. Now we know why this is true.

Medical research into the human brain
has mushroomed in the last decades of
the 20th century. The extent to which our understanding of the brain has grown is amazing and is still increasing. In fact, it has been estimated that 95% of what we know about the brain has been discovered since 1990. Scanners have allowed us to see inside the brain while it
is functioning and one discovery made
from this research has had huge
implications in the field of education - the discovery that the brain is, above all else, designed and wired for learning!

We might expect there to be a huge
interest in this discovery in schools,
teacher training colleges and other
educational or training contexts such as businesses. However, to date, this has not been the case. Only recently has the importance of brain function in ‘learning styles’ and ‘personalised learning’ been promoted and applied in the field of education. The enormous benefits of these discoveries for schools, families, businesses and communities are taking too long to be implemented where they
are most needed.

Fingerprint Learning exists to
accelerate the process of bringing
the benefits of learning-focused
teaching to:

1. Informal Education:
to assist individuals of all ages in their education through personalised learning profiles and study skills.

2. Formal Education:
to facilitate teachers, lecturers and business trainers in improving teaching strategies and techniques.

3. The Community:
to train youth, church, and community workers to support disillusioned youths and adults in returning to education or
engaging in training.

4. Families and Marriages:
to help husbands, wives and children understand their differences and promote harmony in the family.
